Time for some MEN on these lists! Right?
Full disclosure, again: with such an extensive discography, it just so happens that I don't know anything of Aerosmith's early 80's work, most of their 70's, or anything after "Jaded." None of it. But... it's Aerosmith. So much of their work is iconic, it's worth mentioning that some hits rise above others and that some songs ("Don't Want to Miss a Thing") are pretty overrated.
The Run-DMC version of "Walk This Way" can't be included because Run are credited as the main artists on that version which is entirely a new song. It wouldn't be right to take credit away from them since it was their idea to remake the song. So, if I ever get around to doing a Run list, it'll be on there.
OH! And I don't actually like my #10 Aerosmith list choice. I just thought it was criminal not to include it. Usually, when a How Could You NOT List That?!?! song is not listed in one of these (Katy Perry's "Teenage Dream") it's because I genuinely think the 10 songs I chose were better. (Same with Mariah's "Dreamlover".) The #10 song I chose for Aerosmith I think really is better than the songs I didn't include. Unless it's from the 70's / early 80's, my greatest blind spot era for this band. I'll try to choose an artist soon where I actually know their 70's work.
The rest of the songs I did choose are still subject to my liking them. I actually grew up with this band's late 80's to early 2000's stuff. So... yeah, I know the core of their music from when they kind of gave Guns 'N' Roses a run for their money. (I don't even like GNR.)
I chose video clips predominantly, but none of these are live versions. Promise.
My #1 pick has really low volume for some reason. I would have used the Topic video instead but that's really low too. No idea why.
#10. "Dream On"
#9. "Janie's Got a Gun"
#8. "Walk This Way" (1975)
#7. "Cryin'"
#6. "Love in an Elevator"
#5. "The Other Side"
#4. "Sweet Emotion"
#3. "Pink"
#2. "What It Takes"
#1. "Rag Doll"
